🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 Morgan as Hybrid Kids - “their" 2nd album - a Christmas album (Santa Claws… let’s put the “❌" back in ❌mas!!!). Recorded in 1980 in Morgan's Pipe Studios (a Notting HIll bedsit) on an 8-track TEAC.

The theme was to use art-punk arrangements to express the feeling of a dark, pagan, pre-Christian, pre-Christmas winter solstice. Mostly traditional carols - this is not anti-Christmas - more anti-piousness.

Influences: PiL, The Residents, Lennono. Cherry Red Records boss Iain McNay improvised a witty anti-Christmas rant on one track. Other guests included Maggie Nicols, Lol Coxhill and Quentin Crisp (all of whom appeared on Morgan's epic Miniatures album). Made before the age of samplers (Morgan used to dream about such devices) - tape loops were used to to supply drums, orchestral sounds, sound effects...

Features Morgan’s surprisingly powerful guitar, bass and vocals as well as his usual rich mix of keyboards and found sounds.

The highly inventive pen-and ink cover was created by celebrated Time Out and Oz illustrator Peter Till.
